Q: Where can I find Aura Home Design products?
A: Generally speaking, you’ll find our products at major home improvement retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s and Menards. However, not all of our products are available at each of those chains. For example, our NUporte™ line of doors is available exclusively at Home Depot.

Q: Manufacturers generally haven’t been that design conscious when it comes to closet, mirror and bifold doors. What makes Aura different?
A: It’s largely a function of our experience and sensibility. The senior managers of Aura were involved in the interior doors business for a long time with other companies. When we had the opportunity to create a company of our own, the first thing we were determined to do was to introduce a line of closet and mirror doors that epitomized good design. We were also fortunate to have relationships with companies in places like Italy that could help us bring our ideas and designs to life.

Q: In what other ways are Aura doors unusual?
A: A couple of other examples would be these. In the case of our NUporte Grand and NUporte Simplicity doors, we use a top-hung rolling system that enhances the look of the doors, eliminates floor track and makes adjusting simple. Additionally, we only use tempered glass in our doors that have glass panels. Not only is it good looking; if something unfortunate happens to them, the glass doesn’t shatter.

Q: What are your doors made of – other, of course, than mirrored glass?
A: We offer an assortment of materials – wood, steel, aluminum, glass and finger-jointed paper wrap. And the hardware on our doors is made by Stanley. We’re proud to have a long-standing collaboration with that company.

Q: Is it hard to install Aura doors?
A: We won’t say it’s so easy, a child could do it. But the fact is, it is almost that easy. If you’re able to use a tape measure and a screwdriver, you’re 99% there.

Q: Can I be confident that your ready-to-assemble doors will be strong and sturdy?
A: Rest assured, we’ve engineered them to be just that. Their fluted dowel system enhances the strength and rigidity, as do the steel cam pins. By the way, the duel-cam locking system makes assembly really easy.

Q: Do you have installers who can come to my home and install your products?
A: No. the retailer you buy our products from will typically be able to put you in touch with general contractors and installers.

Q: Is there a reason why I’m better off with a bifold door rather than a sliding door?
A: There is, actually. BiFold doors provide ready access to everything in a closet – not just half of it at a time. That’s the advantage of bifolds.

Q: What kind of warranties do you offer?
A: They vary by product. With mirror doors, for example, you have a 5-year limited warranty on the mirror and a limited lifetime warranty on the hardware. Similarly, our wall décor products also come with a 5-year limited warranty.

Q: What do you mean by “limited”?
A: “Limited” means that we only cover manufacturer defects.
